Rewrite koka in koka

I just found Koka and I'm very interested in this project. I had in mind a lot of the ideas of Koka, so I searched the right keywords and finally found this language.

However I realized it's written in Haskell. I like Haskell, I've studied and used it for some time, but now I don't think I'd ever contribute back to an Haskell project.

Hence my question: is Koka powerful enough already to become a self-hosted language? is there any plan to rewrite Koka in Koka itself?

Thanks for this wonderful work.
